WooCommerce affiliate tracking, with a plugin or two webhooks

Connect your store, and each paid order, refund and cancellation reaches Refficks, credited to the partner whose coupon or link brought the buyer. The Refficks plugin also makes every partner's code a WooCommerce coupon for you.

  • A coupon alone credits the partner
  • The plugin makes the coupons
  • Refunds take commission back

Does a WooCommerce coupon credit an affiliate without a click?

Yes. Refficks credits a paid WooCommerce order to the partner whose coupon is on it, with no click needed. With the Refficks plugin, every partner's code is made, changed and trashed as a WooCommerce coupon for you, and a refund or a cancellation after payment takes the commission back by itself.

What you wantOn WooCommerce
A partner's coupon credits the saleYes, either way you connect
A partner's link credits the saleYes, for a shopper who accepted cookies. With webhooks alone, only on the order-received page with the script on it.
Codes in the storeThe plugin makes the coupons. With webhooks, you add each one by hand.
Refunds and cancellationsTaken back by themselves
What an order is measured onIts goods after coupons, with tax unless you switch it out. Shipping and fees never count.

Precisely: either way, Refficks holds no WooCommerce key. The buyer's IP address is replaced with a one-way code before anything is stored, and their browser string is not kept.

What Refficks does not do on WooCommerce

What the WooCommerce connection leaves out, so nobody reads more into it.

  • The plugin is a zip downloaded from Refficks. It is not on WordPress.org.
  • Renewals from WooCommerce Subscriptions are not counted yet.
  • Cash on delivery counts only once the order is Completed, because WooCommerce marks it paid before any money has changed hands.
  • An order from a copy of your store, such as a staging site, is kept and shown, and counted nowhere.

How do I connect WooCommerce to Refficks?

  1. In Refficks, open WooCommerce under Integrations, and choose the plugin or two webhooks.
  2. The plugin: download it from Refficks, upload it in WordPress, and press Connect to Refficks there. It puts the script on every page and waits for consent from a WP Consent API cookie banner.
  3. Two webhooks: type your store's Site Address in Refficks, add the two webhooks in WooCommerce with the address and secret Refficks gives you, and add the Refficks script to your site's header.
  4. Place a test order with a partner's coupon, and read it on WooCommerce's card in Refficks.

The whole guide, with your own address, your own snippet and checks of what Refficks has seen from WooCommerce, is on WooCommerce's page under Integrations in Refficks. You can read it without an account first.

Questions about WooCommerce and Refficks

Is the Refficks plugin on WordPress.org?

No. It is a zip you download from Refficks and upload in WordPress under Plugins. You can also connect with two webhooks and no plugin.

Does a WooCommerce refund take the affiliate's commission back?

Yes, by itself. With the plugin, a partial refund takes back the share of the goods it refunds. With webhooks, it takes back the same share of the commission as its money is of the whole order. If the partner was already paid, it comes off what they earn next.

What if Refficks cannot be reached when an order is placed?

With the plugin, the order waits in the store and is sent when Refficks can be reached. WooCommerce's own webhooks do not send a failed delivery again, which is one reason to choose the plugin.

Which should I choose, the plugin or webhooks?

The plugin, if you can install plugins: it makes the coupons, keeps orders until they are sent, and credits links on any page. Webhooks if you cannot.
